What This Policy Covers

This notice explains what data we process when you visit HonestCredit.org, why we process it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.

What We Collect and Why

• Site operation & security (server logs). Our host processes technical data (IP address, timestamps, requested URLs, user-agent, error codes) to deliver pages, secure the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose issues.

• Analytics (Google Analytics 4). With consent where required, we measure traffic and content performance. Google Analytics 4 provides regional privacy controls and does not log or store IP addresses. (EEA/UK/CH legal basis: consent.)
• Advertising (Google advertising services, e.g., AdSense). With consent where required, ads may be shown and (if enabled) personalized using cookies or similar identifiers for frequency capping, fraud prevention, and reporting.

• Voluntary submissions. If you email us or subscribe, we use the information you provide to respond and send requested updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies & Consent (Banner / CMP)

We use a consent banner (CMP). Until you consent, analytics and ad tags operate in a limited mode via Google Consent Mode v2. Based on your choices we update the following signals for Google tags: analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization. Non-essential cookies are set only after valid consent in the EEA/UK/CH. You can accept, reject, or customize choices and change or withdraw consent anytime via the link in our footer (Your Privacy Choices).

Data Sharing & Recipients

• Service providers: hosting, security, analytics, and advertising vendors under contract.
• Google (Analytics / advertising): may act as an independent controller for certain processing. Google and certain third parties may set/read cookies or use similar technologies for ads and measurement as described in our Cookie Policy.

International Transfers

Where data is transferred outside your region (for example, within Google’s infrastructure), we rely on safeguards required by applicable law (e.g., standard contractual clauses) and apply regional controls when available.

Retention

• Server logs: up to 30 days.
• GA4 event data: up to 14 months (configurable).
• Advertising data: per Google/partner policies and legal requirements.

Your Rights (EEA/UK/CH)

California Privacy (CPRA)

California residents have the right to know, correct, and delete personal information we process, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising). You can exercise your opt-out via the Your Privacy Choices link in our footer (or through our cookie settings). We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals sent by your browser as a valid opt-out request. Where applicable, you may also exercise a right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.

Children’s Privacy

Our site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

We will update this Policy when our practices change. The latest version will always be posted here with the effective date.
